Marta A. Zaborska, Associate, Chicago Illinois

Marta A. Zaborska is an attorney at O'Connor and Nakos, where she practices in all areas of personal injury, including construction negligence, products liability, medical malpractice, premises liability and auto liability. In 2011, she began her legal career as a promising young attorney engaged in cases involving various areas of personal injury and workers compensation.  Over the years, she has volunteered her time by providing pro bono legal services for the indigent at Amicus Polonae Legal Clinic. Committed to her Polish heritage, in the summer of 2012, Marta was elected as a board member of Quo Vadis Chicago 2012 where she organized a leadership conference for delegates from all over the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Born and raised in Poland, Ms. Zaborska graduated with honors from University of Wroclaw, School of Law in 2006. After earning her law degree, she decided to relocate to the United States and continue her legal career. In 2010 Marta received her Juris Doctor degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law, graduating summa cum laude.

At Valparaiso, Marta excelled in the areas of legal research and evidence. During her first year, she served as a professor's research assistant conducting extensive studies on regulations of the consumer credit and banking system in the European Union. In addition, she was a Moot Court Honor Society member and participated in the Annual Luther M. Swygert Memorial Competition and American Bar Association Moot Court Competition in 2009.

While in law school, Marta also completed a judicial externship program with the Honorable Judge Ronald F. Bartkowicz at the Cook County Circuit Court, and was actively involved in various student organizations.  Graduating in only two years (2010), Marta was recognized with an Outstanding International Graduate Award by Valparaiso University School of Law.

Marta utilizes her skills and knowledge to zealously represent clients of O'Connor & Nakos. In addition, she currently serves as an Officer for the Executive Board of the Advocates Society of the Polish Bar Association.
